The JGID Rope Access Challenge was an awesome experience and something I feel really lucky to have been a part of. The atmosphere was supportive, the challenges were well thought out, and it was great to see so many skilled people from across the industry come together. I honestly didn’t expect to go as far as I did, so to come away with both the state and national win was incredibly humbling. It pushed me to grow, learn, and connect with others in the rope access community.

Since the challenge, I’ve taken a lot of what I learned back into my day-to-day work — thinking more critically on the job, working more efficiently, and sharing ideas with others on the team.

I’d definitely encourage others to give it a go — it’s a great way to test your skills and be inspired by the talent around you.

Wingman had the opportunity to sponsor the Inaugural JGID rope access challenge in 2024. We were a little nervous to get involved with this event, as it was untested and new to the Australian industry – but my reservations were soon eased once we officially came on board.

It was immediately clear that Andre, Zane and the JGID crew were committed to giving their all to the success of the event and the satisfaction of everyone involved. They bring small, family-business service, and combine it with large corporation infrastructure, equipment, presentation, marketing and professionalism.

JGID found a way to bring fun, comradery and excitement to our niche industry with this challenging event. And provided an invaluable and direct interface between our products – and the people who use them!

It was immensely valuable to have the opportunity to put my rope-access product in the hands of ropies, and to have the opportunity to market and talk product in a practical and friendly setting.
