The Australian - Just Get It Done! - Rope Access Challenge

Bringing the best rope access technicians from all over Australia and the rest of the world, together to compete in the biggest rope access competition ever hosted in Australia.

A completely new format of rope access challenge, never before done anywhere in the world.

Technicians & Teams will be performing challenging manouvres, required to use tools to complete tasks that they would do in the real world, whilst there is rock music blaring out of the speakers, smoke machines are pumping and the lights, lasers and strobes are shining in their eyes, creating a sensory overload for the technicians and a visual spectacle for the audience alike.

The Rules

You can do whatever you like, to Just Get It Done!*

*As long as you adhere to these rules:

– 2 points of contact at all times

– Major discrepancies, like going on a single point for example, will result in major penalties

– Minor discrepancies, like unscrewed carabiners for example (you can use auto lock), will result in minor penalties

– Dropped objects such as screws, nuts & bolts etc, or requiring external physical assistance during a manoeuvre, will result in penalty times, as specified in each discipline

– Dropped tools & equipment, including phones & carabiners, will be considered a major discrepancy and result in major penalties

– The judge’s verdict is final and undisputable

How JGIDRAC 2026 Works

Technicians can participate in one of the following 4 categories:

Fastest Lady in Town
Fastest Gun in Town
Rookie of the year
(L1’s with less than 1000 hours logged)
A Blast from the Past (Owners, Directors, Managers who have been off the tools for 5+ years or Technicians over 40 years of age)

*Participants in the Blast from the Past with expired IRATA or SPRAT Qualification need to pass a basic competency test before competing.

Team Challenges

One of Each - Team of 4, with 1 person in each category

Teams must have 1 person represented in each Category
4 People per team/challenge
Total score for the team on Saturday for the “One of Each” Trophy
Enter as a team on Sunday for “Fastest Team in Town” Trophy

Anything Goes - Team of 4, mixed from any category

Teams can be mixed from all categories
4 People per team/challenge
Each member gets to compete solo on Saturday
Enter as a team on Sunday for “Fastest Team in Town” Trophy

Prizes - What's in it for the Challengers

In addition to trophies for the fastest competitor in each category and the fastest team from each region, the top 3 competitors in each category and the 3 fastest teams will receive Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals.

All challengers will receive the following:

Limited edititon event participation shirt

Limited edition deck of cards with profiles of each challenger (a bit like top trumps or baseball cards)

Challenge completion certificate “Your Name , from Your Company Name has successfully completed the Australian – Just Get It Done! – Rope Access Challenge”
